This summer isn’t the busiest ever for Southampton. With 3 contract extensions (Sam Gallagher, Jack Stephens and Fraser Forster) and the signing of Jan Bednarek, this summer has been quite relaxed on terms of signings, so here we have a list of three players Southampton should consider signing this transfer window.
1.- Issa Diop (Toulouse FC)
Issa Diop is a 20-year-old centre-back that plays for Toulouse FC in Ligue 1. He also plays for the French U-21 international team. Last season he made 31 appearances for Toulouse, being part of the starting XI in all of them. This is a great number for a 20-year-old player. Issa is valued at £5.4m, which very cheap for a player of his caracteristics. Also, it’s important to remark his height, 6′ 4″.
2.- Max Meyer (FC Schalke 04)
Max Meyer is a 21-year-old midfielder that plays for the German side Schalke 04. He’s a diverse player that can play in a huge variety of positions in the midfield. Last season he made 39 appearances in all competitions, scoring 4 goals and making 4 assists. He’s valued at £12.5m. Max made his international debut for the German national team in 2014.
3.- Antonio Sanabria (Real Betis)
Antonio Sanabria is a 21-year-old striker that plays for La Liga side Real Betis. Last season wasn’t the best for him, he arrived at Real Betis from Roma and he made 24 appearances, scoring 4 goals and making 2 assists. Looking at those numbers, you can think that Antonio wouldn’t be a good signing for Saints but his price would be £4.5m, really a great price for a player like Sanabria. Also, he is international with the Paraguayan national team.
