Slattery signs new deal

Callum Slattery has signed a new three-year-deal at Southampton, the club has announced.

The highly-rated midfielder, who has been capped at various youth levels for England and won the under-20 Toulon Tournament this Summer, has followed Sam Gallagher and Jack Stephens in recently signing new contracts.

Slattery has been a regular for the Saints under-23s despite only being 18 years old and has been at the club since the age of just eight.

With a number of big clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United, reportedly circling around the youngster Southampton will be delighted to have tied him down to a long-term deal with the hope a first-team breakthrough is not too far away.
